On the window's help forums discussing this issue some people said to refresh the desktop which I did and it didn't work. However, it seems that something is wrong since they are there. I have found a ton of stuff about this issue online.some people say it's an issue they have when syncing with different backup programs, others say it doesn't because they haven't done that and it still happened. I noticed this after I synced the desktop folders to my OneDrive account.
I noticed last night that my desktop folders have grey x's in the left hand bottom corners.
